February is probably one of the slowest months for any kind of new BC product and it is a good time to buy a case of the wines you have been enjoying because many good ones are just about depleted in stock. Good news is the unoaked whites from 2003 are just around the corner and in March we start to see the flow with many new Gewurztraminers first out of the chute. Reds tend to be pre summer with Note Bene from Black Hills, Burrowing Owl Merlot and Sandhill reds generally released in June. Tinhorn has just released their 2001 Merlot and Cabernet Franc with an opposite profile from the last vintage, as the 2000 Merlot is still quite firm and the Cab Franc drinking beautifully but this vintage the Merlot is much more approachable on release with the Franc a little tannic right now.
