May 2008
Hi everyone; the ETO for Cook Street looks to be more like mid month than this coming weekend however we are happy the finish line is in sight and will be sure to let you know when we are loading the fancy new 14 door fridge…
At Cadboro Bay; we will be releasing the Black Hill’s 2006 Note Bene with a 2 bottle per person limit on Saturday at 10am, however you can preorder with charge card at 592.8466 starting now.
Glenn’s pick of month; it is always fun to taste the fresh new wines from the previous fall harvest and so far the Cedar Creek Ehrenfelser continues to set the bar for that grape in the Okanagan. It’s been difficult to keep it in stock so we are hoping the winery isn’t already running low and we will at least get a couple months out of the listing. My tasting notes are; Orange blossom, nectarine & peach with floral & honey notes that are rich on the palate with a nice snap of acidity to finish.
The next Victoria Wine Society tasting is a world wide look at Riesling. Memberships have now expired and will need to be renewed to for this event to receive the discounted price. The date is Monday, May 26th at Ambrosia Event Centre on Fisgard with the lineup below. Call 592.8466 or drop by BC Wineguys at 2579 Cadboro Bay Road for tickets.
